You. Yes, You. Are You a Giveaway Winner? Read Here and Find Out!

That’s our spokesmodel Daria above, in the current issue of French Vogue, which is one of my favorite mags these days because the makeup artistry is always amazing. I love Daria’s makeup in this picture, especially the gold shadow around the tear duct. I have to try that next week. But in the meantime, more giveaway winners!

KyaLyn–You won the Kate Winslet giveaway. To everyone who posted your brave moments as part of that giveaway, wow. Whether you killed a bug for the first time, left a bum boyfriend, tried steak tartare or cut off all your hair for Locks of Love, you’re incredible. A few shoutouts. Karen, good luck with your makeup career! Check out Karen’s blog here. And to Sarah Jess, who started her own jewelry biz, good luck to you too! Check out Sarah’s unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry on Etsy.com.

Moriah–You won the Lee Woodruff book giveaway.

Miss JuJu–You won the Janet Carlson book giveaway.

Amanda K–You won the “113 Things” giveaway. Everyone left great comments for that post. So many people mentioned sunscreen and eyebrow grooming as the things they wish they had known as teenagers. I’m in agreement. If you’re a teen and reading this, don’t overpluck your brows! And don’t bake in the sun.

Have a great weekend everyone! Fun giveaways next week, so check back. And don’t forget, if you post a comment for a giveaway, make sure there’s a way for us to get in touch with you if you win!

  1. Congrats to the winners!!!

The makeup on Daria looks great… but I don't like the fact that she's wearing fur. Daria is so gorgeous anyway… no matter what she wears.

My derm's always telling me that most of the sun damage our skin gets is the one it gets during our childhood… so yes… I wish I'd known that and worn more sunscreen as a teenage girl.

    Great weekend to you all.

  2. Marie, sorry about that. I should have been more sensitive in choosing the picture! I cropped it to focus on the makeup. You can click on the picture to enlarge it and see the makeup better.

Immediately upon seeing this picture the first thing that came to mind was Lee Remick in the original Omen. Everyone is saying that the looks are 80s inspired. So why is it I keep feeling the 70s??? Every photo spread I see makes me want to shag my hair and grow a beard not shave and buy stock.

Hi everyone, I really like this blog, now even more with the great advise and tips from everyone -another bloggers.

Kerry, could you please make a post about oily skin? Like mine? :( I'm almost 30 and my skin is oirler than when I was 15, I don't get what's happen. Maybe it's the weather, I live in a really hot place, we have above 40°C this year and it's really annoying for me that my face is most of the time shinning like crazy…

I'm been using Pure Focus for a long time but lately, it seems not enough for me and my crazy skin. I use it for the dat with sunscreen and Genifique for the night. Please advise!

Thank you and I hope everyone have a nice weekend! First weekend in week that I'm not going to work! Yeahhh! Hehehe.

  7. Kerry, It's fine… You didn't need to… Wearing fur is a very controversial issue… I just don't do it myself and I don't like seeing people wearing fur, but… yes, there's a but… I'd never tell anyone not to do it, since I don’t like judging others.

TT, have you tried the Pure Focus Cleanser??? I just love it!! I only use it in the evenings 'cos my skin is not oily, but mixed. Maybe you could use it twice a day on a daily basis. Cleansing the skin is essential for any type of skin and finding the right cleanser is SO important!! Make sure you leave the cleanser on your face for 60 second while you massage so that the formula can do its trick!

    Thanks anyway!!

Hi Marie. I use the entire line of Pure Focus most of the time. Last month I finished my cleanser and I bought Gel Eclat of Lancome too for every skin type. It's really good and a great product because with a little drop of the mousse it makes a lot of foam and leaves your skin clean and fresh. But shortly after my skin's face develops this grease surface and start to shine :( Even when I'm at the office with AC. But defenitely I'll try your avise: leaving the cleanser for about 60 secs.

Thank you very much! See you soon here Marie, I see you post regulary too.

    TT.
