Perfecto Mobile to use newly raised $7 million to expand mobile device testing service

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Perfecto Mobile raised $7 million from existing investors as it plans to expand its Handset Cloud testing service. The sum, raised from venture capital funds Carmel Ventures and Vertex Venture Capital, will support the company’s marketing and sales plans to reach more developers and better address their needs by increasing the number of handsets available for testing in more geographical locations.

The emergence of new business models and open technologies in the mobile industry, such as mobile application stores, mobile widgets and open device platforms increases the need for testing on mobile devices. With the new funds Perfecto Mobile will be able to reach more developers and better address their needs by increasing the number of handsets available for testing in more geographical locations.

The developments in the mobile industry encourage an ever-growing number of developers to create a myriad of new innovative applications and quickly get them to market. In order to successfully monetize applications and ensure their quality, these developers, as well as the app stores providers, need to test the applications on a variety of mobile handsets.

Perfecto Mobile’s Handset Cloud service enables developers and testers to test their mobile phone applications over the web on a multitude of real handsets of various platforms, such as Android, Symbian, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and J2ME.
