Sprint has finally launched the most advanced android the HTC Hero. The new device is now available for testing on Perfecto Mobile’s Handset Cloud service.
The Hero, which is the third Android smartphone to hit the market, suggests that the future supply of Android-based devices will present tougher competition for the iPhone. So for instance the reviewer at phandroid concluded that “Android is the greatest platform in the world and the HTC Hero is the best touchscreen only Android phone in the world”.
On the other hand the reviewer at Gizmodo concluded that “the Hero is flawed, though, in ways that are truly depressing in light of its potential and how much it does get truly right: It’s often sluggish, which absolutely destroys the user experience. It’s a particularly unfortunate affliction as the iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre emphasize speed, making the Hero feel that much slower”.
