Amitabh Bachchan wants a new look!

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Amitabh Bachchan wants a new hairdo and a change of wardrobe. That’s what Big B said when he went recently to Madame Tussauds in London to take another look at his wax dummy.

Amitabh Bachchan is a phenomenon and that is why we made him a part of Madame Tussauds in the first place. He visited us recently and wanted an updated wax figure because he now sports a different look and wardrobe,” says Ben Lovett, spokesperson of Madame Tussauds.

There are four wax figures of Indian origin at the museum. Mahatma Gandhi was the first, followed by Amitabh Bachchan, then Aishwarya and the latest one is Shah Rukh Khan. “We waxed the Mahatma because he impacted the world history, Big B came in because of his persona, Ash for her worldwide popularity and Shah Rukh Khan because we received thousands of fan requests,” says Ben.

Will we see Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty at the museum soon? “We will not come out with a new wax figure till mid-2008 . But if Indian presence increases, the people will be drawn from the fields of entertainment and cricket. That’s because Britain loves them,” Ben said.
