We all know that Aamir Khan’s a perfectionist and believes in really getting into character. So therefore it comes as no surprise that the actor who is currently filming for Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots at the Institute of Marketing and Management (IMM) in Bangalore campus, is staying in the student hostel on campus.

“Yes he is staying in the hostel on the campus of IMM. He feels that will allow him to pull of his character of Ryan better. In fact he isn’t just staying in a room but sharing it with another student. He is trying to live exactly like one does in a hostel. It was both Aamir and Raju sir’s decision to stay on campus as it will help the character to grow in its natural flow,” says a source from the sets.

And so all the actors including R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani are also staying on campus but each of them has their own room.“Even the food is not coming from a big five star hotel. Everyone is eating food from the campus canteen. The campus is also big so the actors are really enjoying,” says the source, “Real IMM students are also going to be a part of the film.”

Kareena Kapoor who is starring opposite Aamir in the film will join the crew next week.3 Idiots is directed Rajkumar Hirani and it is based on novel Five Point Someone. Here in this film Aamir is playing the role of a painter and his love interest in the film is Kareena Kapoor. The film is expected to release in June 2009.

By now we all know that Ace Hollywood choreographer Marty was in India recently to choreograph a song for Shahid Kapoor for his upcoming film Ken Gosh’s YAHOO .

Mike, Marty’s main dancer was also here and helped Shahid learn his moves. Mike and Shahid would agressively rehearse at Ajivan Hall, Juhu to perfect the moves and also got along well. Not many know that Shahid played a perfect host and even gifted Mike a whole new line of luggage as a farewell gift.

Says a source,’ Once when they had taken a break from a grueling rehearsing session Mike and Shahid happened to see a recent advertisement of Shahid’s in which he has endorsed a whole new line of luggage. When Mike saw the ad he appreciated Shahid a lot. He even liked the luggage and expressed interest in going shopping with for the same. But due to time constraint they couldn’t do so. When Mike was leaving for his country, Shahid surprised him by gifting him the whole new line of luggage as a farewell gift. Mike was very touched by Shahid’s gesture and was all praise about his friendly nature. He even had tears in his eyes while bidding goodbye.’

Saas-bahus of television, get ready for a reality check. The daily soap bubble is about to burst as television gets ready for a complete revamp. If the buzz is to be believed, then Bollywood directors Vikram Bhatt, Mahesh Manjrekar, Madhur Bhandarkar alongwith Ashoke Pandit and Shriram Raghavan have been approached by a popular television channel to direct serials for them. The four have been offered whopping amounts to help the channel jack up its TRPs.

“It’s a move to change the way TV has been functioning. There’s nothing more than saas-bahu sagas or reality shows on TV these days. These directors will bring about a change for the better,” informed a source. When we asked Vikram Bhatt about his debut on TV, all he said was,“It’s too premature to talk about it.” Madhur, it is learned, will be making women-centric short films. “They won’t be longer than an hour. There will be thrillers, stories based on real life, fiction, horror stories and more. Veteran actresses like Deepti Naval and Sarika will be approached for the series which will comprise 12 episodes,” said the source.The four are bound by a contract which stops them from revealing anything as of now.

Shilpa Shetty launched actress Sona’s first business venture, the showroom Unique, on Friday 9th at a function at the Taj Connemera in Chennai. Shilpa had come down to Chennai after a long time and said that she did it because of her personal acquaintance with Sona.

The Unique showroom is located opposite the SIET college and will showcase handpicked accessories from around the world. Speaking about the showroom, she said that it would be a one of its kind shopping place for all lifestyle requirements. She said that there would not be more than one or two of a given design or piece of any item in the showroom which would ensure that the buyer would get to retain the uniqueness of what has been bought.

Shilpa Shetty also added that she has been invited by Prabhu Deva to act in Tamil again and that she was interested to do more movies down south opposite top stars.

Says Sona, “Shilpa was amazed at the product list we showed her. International brands not available in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, will be available in my store. We will showcase only handpicked accessories from around the world and no two products will be the same.

What’s more…. some really big labels are going to be seen in the store. All products would be targeted mainly at the film, fashion and hi-end clientele who want to be exclusive and don’t mind paying for it. As the brand develops we will also be manufacturing our own range soon.”

Construction work in Kareena Kapoor ’s new home has come to a standstill. The handful of workers who were constantly seen hammering away at Kareena and her mother’s plus apartment in Khar have vanished and the house is under lock and key.

“Till Diwali last year we would see all three of them… Kareena, Karisma and Babita.. drop in to see their home and what the workers were doing. Often they would be accompanied by their interior designers but for the past couple of months none of them have come. In fact the workers have also left,” informs a source, “Karisma used to drop in at least once every day to check in on both the flats. Babita used to come often too. And Kareena who had a busy schedule all of 2008 would come as well whenever she was in town.

The rest of the flat owners have moved in or are getting the last touches done in this new construction but the Kapoors are no where to be seen. The Kapoors were expected to move into their new home at the start of 2009 but it doesn’t look like that now.

Residents in the building say that it looks like there has been issue with the people doing her home. Kareena had roped in Twinkle Khanna to do her home.

“Twinkle’s assistants would drop in to check the progress. But even they have stopped coming. At this point the house has been given a basic white wash. But all the other material is just lying inside. It has been locked up and no one is coming to check it. Currently Kareena’s is the only apartment which has no work going on,” informs the source.

Kareena’s and her mother Babita will live on the same floor but not in the same flat as Bebo. Karisma Kapoor will also move in with her daughter Samaira on the 10th floor of the same building.Saif too has bought himself a duplex in Bandra just a couple of lanes away from Kareena’s flat. The actor will begin work on his house in the coming months and will only move in early next year.

John Abraham with his fab display of wings and six packs took Bollywood by storm in DOSTANA and ended up becoming one of the most popular ’pin up’ boys. However, the actor seems to be hardly pleased with his performance in the last year.

’In 2009, I have Kabir Khan’s NEW YORK, David Dhawan’s HOOK YA CROOK with Uday Chopra and if it releases then AASHAYEIN. I wish the film sees the light of day as soon as possible as it is so far my most intense performance. It gave me a lot of creative satisfaction as an actor. 2009, seems good for me’, said John who is in Mumbai for a few days before he gets back to shooting for Abbas Tyrewala’s romantic comedy DIAL 1800 set in the US.

Never mind his work, there’s much focus on his workouts these days – those six pack abs, the butt workout et al… But John is quick to praise his contemporaries instead of blowing his own trumpet! ’A lot of actors need to be given credit for their bodies – Aamir ’s in GHAJINI is superb and so was Shahrukh ’s in OM SHANTI OM, however ask me to pick the best, and I’d choose Shah Rukh in CHAK DE INDIA. As far as my body is concerned, I was highly inspired by Sylvester Stallone when I was young’ revealed John.

It’s actually after a recent trip to Salman’s Panvel farmhouse that the couple were said to be returning to Mumbai when they felt the need to stop for some fast food as they both were hungry.

The moment their fans saw the land cruiser waiting outside MacDonald’s they rushed to them for photographs and autographs.

When newspersons pressed hard to know if the rumour about his affair with Bollywood actress Geeta Basra held any merit, an unnerved Harbhajjan Singh said with a smile, ” We are just good friends’ line. Although rumour mills have been buzzing about their proximity for a while, our Bhajji clarified further that he would inform the media about the girl he eventually going to be married with soon.

This is a recent picture of the Love Couple Together at a Club Inauguration. Both were seen badly drunk after the event. Earlier some time Actress Geeta Basra was spotted entering cricketer Harbhajan Singh ’s room at the Taj Lands End Hotel in Bandra on Saturday night.

Added to it she told “We are a small group of friends and whenever he is in Mumbai, we catch up. He is a fun-loving guy and we just chill out,” said Geeta. The cricketer was in the city to promote the reality show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena that begins later this week.

It was a surprise announcement from Samajwadi Party on Thursday when it came out that Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt would be its candidate from Lucknow for the Lok Sabha elections “subject to clearance by the Supreme Court and the Election Commission.” Mr. Dutt, who had been sentenced by the High Court under the Arms Act, would be the party’s star campaigner in the elections.

Announcing the party’s first list of 29 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections after a meeting of the Central Parliamentary Board here on Thursday, party general secretary Amar Singh said, “Like a BJP MP, who is a known cricketer, was allowed to contest despite being convicted, we too will try our best to field Sanjay Dutt. If we fail, he will certainly be our star campaigner.”

He also claimed that Sanjay Dutt had agreed to contest. “Dutt told me you are like my elder brother. He said he would do anything I ask him to though he said he was not a political person,” Singh said.

Mr. Singh also said that recently the United Nations made him their global ambassador on malnutrition. “Since we are an ally of the Congress and Sanjay’s sister Priya is a Congress MP, we hope the party would be happy.”
